Mike LarkinMichael C. Larkin is an American podcaster, former co-host on the Max Wrestling Podcast, co-host of Netpicks and Steve and Mike Show and Pop Culture History and host of On The Mic With Mike, LFC Podcast - Beauty Strength and Dominance and Life Of Mike on IGTV.
Larkin was part of "The Max Elite." Since first appearing on Max Wrestling Podcast in late 2016, Larkin has appeared on the second-most episodes of Max Wrestling Podcast, becoming a regular co-host following PromoMania II in 2017. Larkin has acheived almost every accolade available in Max Wrestling as a former Promo Champion, three-time Knowledge Champion, nine-time Predictions Champion, Iron Bank 2020 winner, winner of Promo Climax 2 in 2019 and King Of The Mic 2019 winner. Trivia Career Unstoppable Larkin established himself early on as a formidable opponent in trivia competition. After making his debut in late 2016, Larkin began his rivalry with inaugural Knowledge Champion Kinny Killa, eventually defeating him for the title at Podcast Promo Rumble 2 in January 2017. Larkin went on to hold the title for 364 days before a twist of fate saw Kinny regain the title at the same event a year later. Larkin began his second reign by defeating Killa at PromoMania III, and this time went on to break his own record for an unprecedented 628 days, surviving BOTH Iron Bank cash ins by Killa in 2018 and The Phoenix in 2019. His reign was brought to an end by The Phoenix at the Maxies Awards 2019. Mr. Iron Bank Reeling from his loss, Larkin competed for the third Iron Bank contract in 2020, defeating Ella Jay and The Phoenix. He held on for the rest of the year before announcing he would cash in at the end of the contract - at PromoMania VI, where he defeated The Phoenix, becoming the first person to successfully cash in the Iron Bank contract. This was the shortest of Larkin's three reigns as he was unable to survive the "Champion's Chase" at Trivia Takeover 6: Mortal Conflict. Promo Career King Of The Mic After participating in the first Promo Climax in 2018 to crown the inaugural Promo Champion, Larkin quickly flourished in the King Of The Mic tournament the following year, developing his skills and eventually winning by defeating Robert Davis in the final. He then went on to win a 4-way bout at PromoSlam 4, becoming Promo Champion. Larkin won Promo Climax 2 while still Champion, before losing to Travis Anderson at the Maxies Awards 2019. Following this loss, Larkin stopped competing for championships, but participated in promo exhibitions with The Shape, Daniel Crimmins and Brittney Savage in 2020. At PromoSlam 2021, Larkin participated in a promo exhibition with Cypher in what was - at the time - Cypher's farewell match. Larkin later left Max Wrestling in late 2021. After a year off, Larkin made his return in late 2022, calling out Daniel Crimmins. The two went on to renew their rivalry in a promo exhibition at Promo Series 7: Rising Storm, before teaming up to launch a new Impact podcast: Uncaged. At The Maxies Awards the following month, Larkin declared himself an option to face Cypher for Television Championship, but was not voted as the challenger. He went on to bring Robert Davis out of retirement for a promo exhibition at PromoMania VIII in 2023. In mid-2023, Television Champion, The Captain called out Mike Larkin to challenge him. Larkin eventually accepted the challenge - marking his first title match in 2 and a half years. Larkin was defeated by The Captain's longer promo at Fight For The Knowledge 2. Larkin re-appeared in September, issuing an open challenge for a promo exhibition at Promo Series 8: Chaos Theory. The challenge was accepted by Beer.
