The DemonessNicola MacDonald, better known as "The Demoness" is an English podcaster, best known appearing on the Max Wrestling Podcast. MacDonald was a fan favourite, portraying The Demoness in the Promo Order, an evil and almost supernatural dark character, famous for violent threats and sometimes psychological or physical torture of her opponents. She was proclaimed as the "Queen of Max Wrestling".
The Demoness is a former Max Wrestling Promo Champion, and currently holds the record for the longest reign at 230 days. She is also a 4-time Predictions Champion. Together with Robert Davis, she forms "The Blackhearts". Trivia Career Switching up Better known for her promo career, MacDonald has competed in trivia. She teamed with The Phoenix and Travis Anderson in the Champion's Chase match against Moses Marquez at Trivia Takeover 5: Champion's Chase, but was caught and eliminated by Marquez. She later challenged Alex Doriot for the Knowledge Championship in the Winner Stays On challenge at Promo Series 5: Enemy Lines, in which Doriot retained. Promo Career Undisputed Queen Very little was known about MacDonald when she entered Promo Climax 2 in 2019, but it was clear she had a character to develop as she donned face paint to open the tournament with a victory over Zack Herring. It wasn't until the following day when she broadcast live in the RWT Facebook group that The Demoness was truly born, captivating the group's members with her candle-lit ominous message. After almost a month, her second match saw another victory, this time over Robert Davis, who she quickly bonded with due to their common dark creativity and together became known as "The Blackhearts". Her next opponent Daniel Crimmins dropped out of the tournament early on, but this did not stop The Demoness from cutting a promo before suffering her first loss to Mike Larkin. During the promo, Larkin seemed to vanquish The Demoness by tapping into "The Madness." Shortly after, The Demoness was resurrected by Myers in blood-ritual, as she defeated Moni Lynn. In her final match of the tournament, MacDonald defeated Tedd P Dinero. Two matches were booked for the Podcast Promo Rumble 5 Pre-Launch show as Cypher defeated Dinero and The Demoness defeated Robert Davis for the second time in what was dubbed the "Showdown In The Shadows part II." The winners then faced off on the Max Wrestling Podcast 5th Anniversary show with the winner going on to challenge the Promo Champion, which saw MacDonald defeat Cypher. She then defeated Travis Anderson at PromoMania V to become the new Max Wrestling Promo Champion - and first woman to win a Max Wrestling championship. As the Promo League began after PromoMania V, MacDonald could only bide her time as the League participants battled for a Promo Championship match. However, during the season, The Shape chose The Demoness for a promo exhibition - which took place on Post To Post in May 2020 - an accompaniment show to discuss the Promo League. She then successfully defended the Promo Championship against Moses Marquez at Trivia Takeover 5: Champion's Chase. Following Trivia Takeover 5, the King Of The Mic took place and was won by Marquez, earning him a rematch with MacDonald. She retained the title for a second time as they battled at PromoSlam 2020. Another tournament began after PromoSlam - the inaugural PromoBowl. On the first day of the tournament, MacDonald also defended the Promo Championship as she granted Travis Anderson a rematch from PromoMania V. Despite his best efforts, judges at the time voted for MacDonald to retain the Promo Championship. The three eventual winners of the PromoBowl - Aleksandr Rowen (later revealed as Anderson), Chris Durham and Moses Marquez all challenged for the Promo Championship at Promo Series 5: Enemy Lines. As Marquez finally won the title, Macdonald's reign ended on 230 days, and remains unsurpassed. Hiatus, return and retirement After her loss, Macdonald went on a hiatus from Max Wrestling and the Promo Order to reload and also mourn a family grievance. Much to the the satisfaction of many, The Demoness was called out of her hiatus by The Kingpin at Podcast Promo Rumble 6 for what many considered a dream match at PromoMania VI. Over the following weeks, no answer was given to The Kingpin, which he addressed as disrespect. Finally in closing weeks before the event, MacDonald resurfaced as The Demoness as the intensity grew between the two rivals. Their promo exhibition became a cinematic match at PromoMania VI, dubbed "The Dance Of Death", during which The Demoness broke into The Kingpin's house, ripped out his tongue and stole his crown. Defending Max Wrestling in the short-lived "Thursday Night Wars" against Bold Prediction Wrestling, MacDonald caught the attention of former Bold Prediction co-hosts, Ryan Squared. She would later issue a challenge to face all three members Louie Sutcliffe, Ryan Sutcliffe and Ryan Taylor in the first ever 3-on-1 handicap promo exhibition at Trivia Takeover 6: Mortal Conflict. With a vow to become the first "Queen Of The Mic", MacDonald entered the 2021 King Of The Mic tournament, defeating Chris Maldonado in the first round. However, she suffered defeat at the hands of Travis Anderson in the semi-finals, exiting the tournament. However, during the tournament, The Demoness was also called out by The Jester as he demanded she heal The Kingpin so as to face him himself. After initially rejecting, MacDonald later agreed after being reminded that Myers once did the same for her. The Jester then made the match with The Kingpin official for PromoSlam 2021, requesting he be delivered by The Demoness. At PromoSlam 2021, The Demoness and The Jester went face to face for a final negotiation before she conducted a ritual to revive The Kingpin, with a surprise assistance from her Blackhearts partner, Robert Davis. As persuaded by The Jester, Macdonald entered the second annual PromoBowl, facing the debuting Amber Anderson in the first round in Max Wrestling's first ever all-female promo bout. Anderson did the unthinkable and defeated The Demoness in her first appearance. Macdonald later left the Promo Order before all voting promo competition ceased.
