The KingpinEmir Costello, better known as "The Kingpin" is an American podcaster, admin of the RWT
Facebook group, former co-host of Beyond The Mic and currently appears sporadically on the Max Wrestling Podcast. Costello is best known as the leader of RWT, but is also a well known main eventer on the Max Wrestling Podcast, where he was the inaugural Max Wrestling Promo Champion. Trivia Career 2012!! Despite being more of a promo icon, Costello has competed in trivia battles. He first competed at Podcast Promo Rumble 3 where Mike Larkin lost the Knowledge Championship and Kinny Killa defeated Rayne Brady for the vacant title, Larkin then defeated Costello to earn a rematch. At PromoMania III, The Phoenix defeated Costello in the inaugural Iron Bank Challenge. Costello continued his pursuit of the Knowledge Championship, competing against Larkin and Killa at Trivia Takeover 3.0: Pick Your Poison, in which Larkin retained. Several months later, Costello challenged Larkin during the Winner Stays On challenge at Promo Series 3: Lethal Games. Again, after several months, he competed in the second Iron Bank Challenge against Courtney Summers, Kinny Killa and Moses Marquez, which was won by Killa. Costello challenged Larkin one on one at PromoSlam 4 and more time at Promo Series 4: Act Of War before retiring from trivia competition. He had developed an affinity for yelling "2012!" as an answer to any question about a year. Promo Career BlackBane In 2018, Max Wrestling announced a tournament would take place to launch a new Promo Championship. The Promo Climax was formatted in a round-robin style with two league blocks and the winners of each block would face each other. Costello went undefeated in his block, picking up victories over Tony Curkendall, Mike Larkin, Tedd P Dinero and Robert Davis, introducing his masked gimmick "Black Burnham". He then defeated The B****** to become the inaugural Promo Champion at Promo Series 3: Lethal Games. Costello successfully defended the title against Moni Lynn at Podcast Promo Rumble 4. After an intense build, in which Costello wrote his own diss track, The B****** was granted a rematch, where he defeated Costello for the Promo Championship, handing him his first loss. Costello went on to compete in the first King Of The Mic tournament, defeating Daniel Crimmins in the first round before being avenged by Robert Davis in the semi-finals. Shortly after King Of The Mic, Costello entered a personal feud with Luis, owner and co-host of Evolution Of Pro Wrestling. During their rivalry, Luis attempted to invade and take over RWT. The two went head to head in a grudge match on the Trivia Takeover 4.0: Curse Of Champions Countdown Show, which was won by Luis. Feeling betrayed by his peers, Costello went silent, allowing Moni Lynn to take over RWT as its Queen. Finally, Costello decided to put full control of RWT on the line in a triple threat match against both of them. Instead of cutting a promo, Lynn announced her full support of Costello, and together, they defeated Luis in the "Civil War" at PromoSlam 4. During this rivalry, The B****** developed genuine heat with Costello after trying to interfere in the "Civil War", blaming Costello for being verbally attacked by Luis. Costello decided not to compete in Promo Climax 2 in 2019. Instead, he and Dazzy Dangerously co-hosted Beyond The Mic - an accompaniment show to the Climax in which they would interview participants each week. The Kingpin Aside from the interviews, due to his personal issues, Costello did not appear in Max Wrestling until March 2020 where he shocked everyone by challenging The B****** to a match at PromoMania V, after breaking contact with him for over six months. During this return, Costello fully adopted "The Kingpin" moniker. As many anticipated the rematch and two fierce rivals facing off, the match turned out to be a sit down discussion at The B******'s request - and much to the disappointment of Costello, who prepared for promo action. Costello entered the new Promo League in May 2020, opening the season after answering a challenge from Travis "The Walker" Anderson, which Costello won. At the top of the league, and in line to challenge The Demoness for the Promo Championship at Trivia Takeover 5: Champion's Chase, Costello accepted a challenge from Moses Marquez, introducing his 80's character A.T. Rustlar, but lost his spot. Shortly after, Max Wrestling went through "The Shift" and The B****** was ex-communicated. Costello also stepped away from both the Promo Order and social media. He made a surprise return as A.T. Rustlar with an old school intro video in January 2021 to promote Podcast Promo Rumble 6 - which was 80's themed. At the event itself, Costello appeared again, this time to announce his return as The Kingpin, and to call The Demoness out of her hiatus for a dream match at PromoMania VI. The dream quickly turned into a nightmare as Costello and MacDonald produced a cinematic match, which ended with The Demoness ripping out The Kingpin's tongue. In June 2021, at Trivia Takeover 6: Mortal Conflict, Dazzy Dangerously appeared as The Jester and demanded The Demoness revive The Kingpin so that he could face him and resurrect The Shape - a gimmick which was also vanquished at PromoMania VI. At PromoSlam 2021, after cameos from Costello's character's A.T. Rustlar and Black Burnham, The Demoness revived The Kingpin - now suffering from post traumatic stress and began to blame The Captain for his shortcomings. Dangerously - as The Jester - then stated Costello's path to recovery would be regaining the Promo Championship. Championships and accomplishments Max Wrestling Promo Championship (1 time, Inaugural)
